I have photographed a number of weddings across the North West now but one of the most elegant and romantic settings must be Leasowe Castle over the water on the Wirral. The 16th century castle is set against a stunning backdrop of beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the rugged British coastline.
With both the ceremony and reception at Leasowe Castle, the bridal party didn’t need to worry about ruining their hair in the pending rainy forecast. The ceremony was held in an ivory-dressed room in the West wing of the Castle.
As a photographer you can feel both the excitement and the nerves of the groom as the music starts to play and the bride walks down the aisle. As the party all stood up I took note of how, even in its Tudor grandeur, the ceremony room felt both cosy and intimate.
The reception room was just as inviting. The bride had chose a simple ivory colour scheme in the room to match her beautiful strapless dress and bouquet. The bridesmaids looked radiant in their vibrant – even if unusual- royal blue dresses. The centre pieces were specially hand-made by the bride, adding those all important personal touches.
It was a great day and I took some stunning photographs.
