White Wedding’s Tips for What happens if it RAINS on your wedding day!

So you wake up on your wedding day, look out of your window and its raining! What do you do? Don’t worry, it’s not the end of the world! Rain on your wedding day is a superstition said to bring good luck to the marriage. The Italians have a saying for it Sposa Bagnata, Sposa Fortunata (Wet Bride, Lucky Bride).

Here in the UK it rains, often when it is not expected. So what can you do in case the weather turns ugly and threatens to spoil your wedding plans.

Brides and Grooms will often discuss wet weather alternates with their Wedding Co-ordinators and Venues. It is also equally as important to discuss different options with your Wedding Photographer. What I will do is discuss alternate locations with you, so that if we need to seek shelter we have different locations at the ready. On your wedding day we will work together to do everything possible so that you stay clean and dry.

A good plain umbrella will not only keep you dry in light rain, but is a great prop to feature during your wedding shoot. Clear umbrellas are great as they allow light to pass onto your faces in low light situations and if light is not a problem, a plain white or frilly umbrella will fit perfectly with your dress and result in some beautiful photographs. Boots and wellies can also look really cute under your dress and will help you keep your wedding shoes looking perfect for your reception.

If you have chosen to have your wedding photography by White and it does rain, we will take full advantage of it and create some unique, beautiful photographs. What ever the weather on your wedding day, you will enjoy it! It’s one of the happiest days of your life!
